Noise in voltage when Run_identity flag is enabled.

Dear team,

I made a motor driver for 24V and running with f28069 launchpad. I am using lab5a.

I am using two power source 12V for powering driver and instaspin  and 24V for Inverter Circuit. Also i made common grounding as i have to measure phase voltages.

I used 270uf 25V electrolytic capacitor for 12v power supply and 470uf 50V electrolytic capacitor for 24V power supply.

I have problem with the motor run. All the parameters identified are also good.

But the problem is when i enable the Run_identity flag to enable the motor control, i check all the voltages being fluctuated with a noise around 500 Khz frequency. (I am using 30 Khz User_Pwm frequency)

Please suggest what could be the reason.

Thanks.

using DRV8821 , It works fine with a step motor with 2.5 ohm resistance.

However with other set motor with a resistance of 100 ohm , The motor is making

noises and is not moving.

Any Idea ?.

Hi, I tried to change my DRV8303's pwm_mode to 3-pwm input via SPI

It successed on read/write 0x0-0x3 but only PWM_MODE, once I set to 3-pwm input that next cycle gives a fault bit.

could any reason causes this case like me? Thanks!

Hi, I tried to change DRV8303'PWM_MODE' to 3-pwm input,

I do access 0x00-0x03 registers via SPI well but once I change register 0x02 D3 as 3-pwm input

It responsed a fault bit(F0), any reason could cause case like me? Thanks!

Hi,

I have flashed the F28035 exp kit with the PMSM code.  The LED flashes indicating the interrupts are working.

However for the code to run I need to do it manually thru the watch window.  Also the param Isr was defined as 2 but the moment the code runs it changes to 0 automatically.

Could I know how to sort this.  Probably I am missing some settings etc.

Please suggest.

DRV8303: Problem about SPI with C2000 mcu

Part Number:DRV8303

Hello,

I have a question about SPI between C2000 mcu, TMS320F27027F and DRV8303.

If I try to read status register in Drv8303 by SPI, the SDO pin of Drv8303 stayes high

level and doesn't response to the SPI signals.

I checked about these issues:

The En_gate signal is High.

The Spi_nCS pin is Low .

The Spi_clk signal is driven by the TMs320f27027f and the frequency is 1MHz.

The data on SDI pin is H'8000 ( read status register) .

The voltage on the Vdd_spi pin is supplied correctly.

Could anyone reply to my question ?

Hi BU team

DRV8412 was designed for the stepper motor application.  Monitored the Fault* pin timing during the powered-up and found an unsmooth rising edge.

The issues were showed in two below screenshots.

Would you help check it and share your comments?

DRV8837: Can I parallel two or more DRV8837 IC's to boost the output current

Part Number:DRV8837

I have an application were I need to switch very quickly from output to hi-impedance outputs. The DRV8837 seems to offer this.

Unfortunately the output current is not sufficient. I would like to connect the inputs and outputs of multiple of these chips together to boost the output current.

As the H-bridge consists of mosfets with a positive temperature coefficient they should share the current evenly.

Is this correct ?

My load is resistive.

DRV8711: Using Multiple DRV8711 -- Connect V5 outputs for additional current

Part Number:DRV8711

I am using 4x DRV8711 for a 4-axis CNC application.

I would like to utilize the 5V LDO internal to the DRV8711 (V5 pin) to supply the power for the rest of the system, including MCU.  However, the 10mA limit may be a bit restrictive.  Is there a way to connect all four V5 outputs, to get 40mA effective current?  Obviously I would want to avoid backpower -- perhaps a 'diode-ORed' solution?

DRV8305-Q1EVM: Trouble setting the Flag_enableSys in debugger

Part Number:DRV8305-Q1EVM

I am working through the FOC labs, and for some reason most all the time I cannot set the gMotorVars.Flag_enableSys flag in the debugger.  I can set the other flags just fine but not that one.  When I first tried the lab I could set the flag but now I can't.  I have cycled power to everything (except my PC) and exited and re-entered CCS with no luck.  I will try rebooting my PC next.   Is there some sort of protection on that flag or a bug in CCS, or ???

Thanks

How can I terminate floating voltage of PVDD port?

Hi,

Even above condition, (DRV8332 in reset and PVDD off)
the power indicator LED remain on in low brightness.
I could observe the floating voltage (almost 2~3V) at point of arrow.
How can I terminate floating voltage of PVDD port?

Thank you for reading my question.

DRV8303: Shunt Resistor with unipolar current sensing

Part Number:DRV8303

I have drv8303 motor control chip with 3 sense resistors, on in each phase leg (between lower mosfet source pin and DC-).  drv8303 only allows 2 current sense so the third  shunt resistor current sense is processed externally via an opamp such that DSP receives current feedback from all three phases.  normally in an AC motor drive the mosfet will see both Drain to Source and Source to Drain current so the sense resistor and drv8303 and/or op-amp has to allow for bi-directional  (unipolar with a reference voltage such that 1.65V is zero amps) in a standard way.  all relatively normal.  not my question.. let's say i ONLY sampled the shunt resistor's sensed voltage when the lower mosfet passed current ONLY in Drain to Source direction.  sure the sense resistor and the drv8303/op-amp will see bi-directional.. but for argument sakes lets say that DSP purposely ignores all sampled data when current was flowing Source to Drain (shunt resistor was "negative" voltage).  would the Instaspin FOC still work?  could it be made to work with some code change?

DRV8301: DRV 8301 SPI write not working

$

Part Number:DRV8301

I have Arduino Uno and I have developed HTTSOP to DIP(with 2.57mm pitch header) PCB board. I have soldered tiny chip of DRV8301 on this PCB board. I have attached all the peripherals as described in the reference design in the datasheet. I have also connected EN_GATE to 5V and VDD_SUPPLY to 5V pin on Arduino Uno board. I tried just SPI communication with DRV in the beginning as I want to configure it in 3-PWM mode. I think following is register value to be communicated for this, write in 0x02 with value of 0x08 so register becomes like

0x1008 for configuring DRv in 3-pwm mode.

But unfortunately I can only read values and even if I write anything over SPI and then try to read from those values I get default value back i.e

read 0x02 register command is

0x9000

and response I get is

0x9000

instead of

0x9008 after written configuration of 3-PWM mode to dRV.

Please help!!

BOOST-DRV8711: Reading BEMF voltage in EXSTALL mode

Part Number:BOOST-DRV8711

Hi,

I have few queries:

1. Is the BEMF measured at 90, 180, 270 and 360 degrees of the coil current waveform in EXSTALL mode?

2. Is the STALLn/BEMFn triggered at 90, 180, 270 and 360 degrees of the coil current waveform?

3. If the motor stalls at the above mentioned points (in degrees), only then the stall occurance is determined, not in other cases?

4. In Internal Stall Detection configuration, is the BEMF signal available to the comparator in the internal circuitry?

Thank you!

Part Number:DRV591

Hello All,

My customer Huawei uses DRV591 to drive TEC, the output current will reach 3A when the temperature is -40C. They want to know:

1. In our datasheet, the max output current is 3A(typ), what's the min and max value? considering aging and reliability, how much margin does customer need to reserve?

2. Is there any problem of Huawei's application? If the output current is higher than 3A, what's the impact to our part?
