I have a customer interested in the DRV8837 and he has the following questions:
- Is there any startup time requirement when you take the device out of SLEEP mode (i.e. must you wait a certain length of time coming out of SLEEP before you apply a logic ‘1’ to IN1 or IN2? We’d like to diode OR the IN1 and IN2 signal sources, and use the resulting signal to drive the /SLEEP input. All logic levels are satisfied here – we’re primarily concerned about the need to delay assertion of IN1 or IN2 for some time period after /SLEEP is deasserted.
- Is there any need for external freewheeling diodes to manage current flow due to transients when inductive loads are tuned off – or has this need been addresssed within the DRV8837 itself?
